Help a neighbor and yourself this week

Last month’s food drive for Calvary St. Andrew’s Food Ministry was quite a success!  We will have the organization again this week, taking fresh and non-perishable donations as well as monetary contributions.  Every little bit will go to help people in the South Wedge maintain health and nourishment.

This week, Mary Cantin of MGOS Academy of Irish Dance and Ashford Ballet Company will lead kids in Irish dancing, Friends of Mt. Hope Cemetery will join us, and Clamor returns for an encore performance!

Blueberries will be extra sweet this week due to recent heat. Get some while they last!  Berries and fruits available this week will include: blackberries, small yellow-fleshed watermelons, apples, peaches, apricots, plums, and raspberries.  Cherry tomatoes may make an appearance this week as well!  Of course, our farmers are also bringing corn, tomatoes, beans, beets, broccoli, onions, garlic, chard, kale, cucumbers, and carrots.

Allens Hill Farm will be bringing apple cider molasses, baking and pancake mixes, glazes, and granola.  And don’t forget about Leonard Oakes’ great wine selection, Chicory Blue’s fresh cut flowers and bouquets, local bakeries’ breads, and Salamone’s fresh pasta!

Our vendors are proud to offer you the freshest, highest-quality local foods, and we always look forward to seeing our neighbors and friends of the Wedge.  We’ll see you between 4 and 8pm as we all choose the food less traveled.
