Core Principle of the Week…

Each week we will feature one of the principles foundational to the effort that is The South Wedge Farmers’ Market, a reminder of the important and celebratory project YOU are part of!

ECONOMY.

Dollars that are spent at locally owned, import-substituting businesses become reinvested in the local economy and have the multiplying effect of enhancing the vitality of our economy and retaining our community’s wealth. Box stores and other non-local businesses are huge drains that pull money out of our community and dismantle our systems of self-reliance, job creation, and economic prosperity. Economic development is not finding the next technology breakthrough or box store innovation that has a global market, it is shifting our spending behaviors so as to support and develop the vibrancy of our local economy.

Parking at the Market

Parking for the market has sometimes been tricky…those days are over! If you cannot find a parking spot on the street close to the market, we now have access to a huge parking lot ONE block from the market. Follow the signs to the lot on the corner of Alexander and Broadway, just on the other side of 490. If you park on Alexander, parking sides switch at between 6 and 7. When you’re done shopping, stop by the Management Tent if you need help getting all your veggies to your car! We’d be happy to help!
