This week, join the South Wedge Farmers Market in supporting Calvary St. Andrew’s Food Ministry. This is the ‘Wedge’s only food pantry, and provides an important service in helping keep our neighborhoods health and nourished. Both fresh and non-perishable foods are accepted in addition to monetary donations. Share the harvest this week by helping a neighbor.
Speaking of harvests, the fresh, local options this week are amazing! Organic Matters has red, orange, and yellow-flesh watermelons; cantaloupes; a diverse array of tomatoes and tomatillos; summer and winter squashes; beets; and garlic and onions.
Try some heirloom varieties this week from Rochester Roots! They’ll have tomatoes, leafy greens, green beans, escarole, okra, garlic, tomatillos, eggplants, and hot and sweet peppers.
Biscotti for Everybotti has whipped up another batch of delicious blueberry biscotti, made with Tripleberry Farm’s beautiful, organic blueberries!
Clearview Farms has an amazing it
em called a ground cherry. Stop by and try some; they are unique and amazing-tasting! Kurt and Jake will also be bringing six heirloom tomato varieties; hot and sweet peppers; rosemary; french tarragon; broccoli raab (rappi); eggplant; and organic sweet corn.
Singer/songwriter Nick Humphrey brings his smooth singing and traditional acoustic guitar accompaniment back for an encore performance of familiar favorites and originals. This week’s Wedge Veg Passport will focus on succulent cucumbers.
