Please remember that extended summer market hours have ended. The South Wedge Farmer’s Market hours will be 4pm-7pm until October 28th. We know it’s hot out there this week! Free shade, lemonade and ice water will be available to help you stay healthy.
Like melons? This week, we’ve got plenty! Cantaloupes have gone crazy; honeydews are juicy; and red, orange and yellow-flesh watermelons can help you stay hydrated in the heat wave!
Our farmers will have lots of ripe heirloom tomatoes, summer squash, peppers, tomatillos, beans, peppers (hot, bell, and frying), radishes, and winter squash. That beautiful, royal fruit, (yes, fruit) the eggplant, will make a seasonal appearance as well!
This week, stop in to talk with Heather Penrose and Jim Papapanu about the South Wedge Victory Garden. Ceilidh Connection will delight us all with their Scottish smallpipes, and Kinderiffic has activities for the kids!
Speaking of the future, don’t forget that Wedge Veg Passport—this week’s focus is on juicy peaches.
We’ll be there as your neighbors and fellow foodies from 4 to 7pm this Thursday, at 100 Alexander Street, where we choose the food less traveled!
